Accessibility statement

Last updated: 27 October 2026

We want everyone to be able to use CHC Ready. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What you should be able to do

  • Use every page and tool with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
  • Zoom text to 200% without losing content or needing to scroll sideways.
  • Use a screen reader. Form fields have labels and pages have a clear heading structure.
  • Read body text at 18 pixels or larger by default.
  • Use the site without JavaScript for all written pages. The stage tracker and the checklist questions need JavaScript.

How we test

Each build is checked with an automated accessibility tool. Automated checks find only some problems, so we also check by hand with a keyboard, with zoom and with a screen reader. The results of the most recent checks are listed below.

Known issues

Automated checks on 27 October 2026 (axe-core with WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A and AA rules, and HTML_CodeSniffer through pa11y) found no issues on any page, with the waitlist showing errors, or with the checklist questions showing a result. Text reflows at 320 pixels wide and at 200% text size without sideways scrolling. One small issue: on the example meeting pack page, the main text is 17 pixels, just under our 18 pixel standard. We are fixing it.

These checks have not yet been done by hand: using the whole site with a keyboard only; using it with a screen reader (VoiceOver and NVDA); and using it on a phone with large text. Until they are, there may be problems we have not found. Please tell us if you find one.
